562nd Death Added To 1965 Road Toll
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, January 12. New Zealand’s road toll for 1965 has increased by one, says the Transport Department. The official total is now 562, compared with 428 in 1964.
A woman, injured in a road accident at Grey Lynn, Auckland, on December 19, died on December 29 and her death was not notified to the department until today. The January road toll is now 12, compared with seven for the same period last year. Seeking Relatives
Police are having difficulty tracing the relatives of a 46-year-old Wellington man who was killed in an accident at Waikanae about 10 p.m. on Tuesday. His name has not yet been released. The accident occurred when two cars collided a few yards north of the Waikanae bridge on the main highway.
The dead man was the driver of one of the cars. The driver of the other car suffered shock. Police believe the dead man had lived in Wellington only about 12 months. Plunged 100 fl A 15-year-old Stratford boy was killed at 10.45 last night when a car left Makara road. Ratapiko. near Stratford, and
