Leading Role In Premiere
Robin Bell, a Wellingtonborn soprano, will take the leading role for the Focus Opera Group in the British premiere production of Chailly’s "Procedura Penale" in London in January, writes the London correspondent of “The Press.” In the same season, her husband, Peter Blakeman Welch, will conduct Menotti’s ‘The Medium” for Focus Opera. Miss Bell, now a pupil of Dame Eva Turner will appear in three operas by Henze at their first British performance in next year’s St Paneras’ Arts Festival.
