More Popular Than Beatles
When Vera Lynn and the trumpeter, Eddie Calvert, last appeared in Christchurch, the demand for seats was greater than that for the Beatles’ appearances, according to the Kerridge organisation which handled both shows.
The pair will return to Christchurch on March 9-12 in a show which also includes Peter Goodwright, described as the most popular of London’s young comedians, and Konazura, a Japanese juggler who has appeared on the “Ed Sullivan Show.” Eddie Calvert has just completed a record-breaking season at the London Palladium.
