REDPATH’S VITAL ROLE
Outright Win To Victoria (N.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright) MELBOURNE. Victoria turned a first innings deficit into an outright victory by three wickets against Queensland in a Sheffield Shield match which ended at Melbourne yesterday. Victoria, which had to get 387 in 445 minutes to win, made the runs with 48 minutes to spare. The discarded test batsman. I. R. Redpath, played the main part in the win. He made 180 in 371 minutes and hit 20 fours
Redpath put on 213 with G. Watson in 192 minutes in the opening stand. Watson’s 109 was his first shield century. Scores: Victoria 130 and 387 for seven, Queensland 180 and 337.
