HEAD-ON CRASH

Serious Injury To Young Girl (N.Z. Press Association) GORE, January 10. A five-year-old girl is in a i serious condition in the Gore I Public Hospital as the result ‘of a head-on collision between a station waggon and a : late-model car on the main I Kaiwera-Pukerau highway, I about 10 miles from Gore, last i night. She received a broken arm, head and internal injuries. Six people were admitted to hospital after the accident. Their names have not yet been released. The driver of the station waggon received a broken kneecap and the driver of the ear had concussion. Both are in a satisfactory condition in hospital. The driver of the station waggon was the sole occupant of the vehicle. A woman travelling in the car has concussion and lacerations and is in a satisfactory state. Another five-year-old girl has similar injuries. A 21-month-old baby was admitted for observation and is also in a satisfactory condition.
