MELBOURNE CONCERT
Opera Company Maoris I (N.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright) MELBOURNE, Jan. 10. More than 20,000 people watched a Maori concert party at the Sydney Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne last night. The concert was put on by about 30 Maoris from the New Zealand Opera Company’s production of “Porgy and Bess,” at present playing in Melbourne. They gave their services free in a gesture to inaugurate the New Zealand tourist industry’s year in Melbourne.
