Anderson Finishes With Leaders

(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND. New Zealand’s world 125 c.c. class motorcycle champion, Hugh Anderson, found the switch from circuit racing on Saturday to cross-country scrambling yesterday a little too demanding.

In four races in the Gold Leaf international moto-cross series held at the Mangere Domain, Anderson was placed second twice, fourth and fifth. A large crowd saw some spectacular racing, as the competitors, from overseas and New Zealand, roared round the twisting, hilly circuit. In the feature event, the final of the Gold Leaf international moto-cross of 15 laps, Bert Lundin of Sweden raced to victory over K. Cleghorn and A. Collinson, both of Palmerston North. Anderson was fifth. Results were:
