TEMUKA SALE
Fat Ewes Sell Well
"The Press" Special Service TIMARU, May 16. Moderate-sized entries came forward for the fortnightly sale held at Temuka today. Most of the 100 head of fat cattle yarded were of good quality. The sale was a much improved one as compared with St. Andrews sale last week, values being from £4 to £5 a head better. The bulk of the fat sheep offering comprised fat ewes, with only a medium entry of fat wethers. Fat ewes met with an excellent sale, increasing fully 3s a head, while fat wethers sold well at late rates. The recent good tone in all sales of store sheep was again evident in this section, and no change can be reported. Although the offering of pigs was not a large one, weaner values declined by about 10s a head.
