Other Three Quads Home At Tawa Flat
(New Zealand Press Association)
WELLINGTON, May 15.
The family of Mr C. I. Mason and Mrs Mason, of Tawa Flat, was reunited when three of the quadruplets bom in Wellington Hospital on March 31 returned home today. They are Helen Colleen and Jill. The fourth quadruplet. Anne, who went home last Thursday, has already become the special charge of her sister, five-year-old Karen. When the others arrived home today, accompanied by Mrs Mason and their Karitane nurse (Miss Margaret Collier), three and a half-year-old Keith went from one to the other till his mother identified Helen. She is going to be Keith's “special.” Mr Colin Mason was at a loss to know which was his particular affinity, Colleen, but this also was sorted out. So Mrs Mason was left with Jill. When the family lined un for photographs, however. Mr Mason held Jill and Anne while Mrs Mason held Colleen and Helen.
The quads are four distinct enough personalities no “identicals”—to be recognised without reference to their little gold wristlet chains with pretty identification discs. Purchase of a section not far way in Tawa is proceeding. in readiness for building a bigger home. The quads and their nurse are occupying one bedroom in the present house. A home aid is also helping. Nurse Collier, who graduated three years ago after Karitane training, is from Taihape and expects to be with the quads for a month. This is the first time she has had the care of babies from a multiple birth. Weights at the time of discharge from the hospital were: Anne, 61b 2|oz: Helen, 51b 12joz; Colleen, 61b sjoz; and Jill, 61b 6}oz.
