Camera Sales

Sir.—l pointed out in a previous correspondence on this subject that I was able, a few years ago in Christchurch, to purchase an imported camera for £lB. which was the wholesale price. I afterwards saw the same camera in shops throughout New Zealand priced at £32. Please do not overlook the fact that the importer had had his profit before I obtained it. I consider such profits to be immoral, and the more they are practised on a national scale, the more sure we are of another slump, as it would impede the movement of commodities to such an extent. It astounds me that any person can defend a system of super profits which prevents a goodly section of our working people from enjoying the benefits of modern inventions.—Yours, etc., R.H.
