Tribute Paid To Former Minister
The’Hurunus electorate and the whole of New Zealand had suffered a loss with the death of Mr W, H. Gillespie, the former Minister of Agriculture, said the chairman (Mr J. Crooks) at a meeting of the Ashley County Council, It was unfortunate Mr Gillespie’s death had occurred so soon after his appointment as the Minister of Agriculture for it was a portfolio he would have shouldered with distinction as he was keenly interested in the land
Councillors stood in silence and it was agreed to convey the council’s sympathy to Mr Gillespie’s relatives.
