Smoking In Buses
Sir.—l was in Wellington a few years ago on a working holiday, and went to the city with the crowd m the morning and came home on a crowded bus in the evening on week days. There were notices in the buses advising the public that smoking was
not allowed. One evening on a crowded bus a passenger began to smoke. The driver of this bus immediately brought the bus to a standstill and called out, “either that man puts out his cigarette or gets off the bus.” The cigarette was promptly discarded. Smoking was definitely not allowed.—Yours, etc, FAIR PLAY. May 6, 1961.
