City Council Vacancy
Sir.—AU the unsuccessful candidates at the last election should be'given consideration to fill the council vacancy and not just the one with the highest number of votes, who'happens to be a member of Parliament and cannot give full time. To save the expense of a byelection the Citizens' Association. which holds all the council seats, should have the right of selection from the defeated list of candidates. — Yours, etc, • RATEPAYER.
