Bus Services
Sir,—"No Late Buses for City Film Patrons” is a headline I read this morning. While I sympathise with patrons regarding this matter, I think the headline should read, "No Buses for Certain City Routes.” It is time the Transport Board completely revised its timetables, particularly in the “new areas” of the city. As a blood donor, 1 left the Christchurch Hospital on Saturday morning five minutes too late for the 9.40 bus to Hei Hei. The next one? Exactly two hours later at 11.40. Just imagine waiting round town for two hours! I ask the members of the Transport Board to try it, some tune* In a growing district such as Hei Hei the bus service is simply prehistoric. True, the Templeton bus also serves part of the district, but why do the Hei Hei , and Templeton buses run\ at almost exactly the same times? If they were staggered. what a difference it would make. —Yours, etc., LONG WAIT. May 2, 1961.
