Smoking In Buses

Sir,—There is an old saying. “Regulations are made to be broken.” On the 5.40 bus to Shirley on Thursday two women and a man occupying seats in the non-nico-tine portion of the vehicle, were indulging their objectional habit. I do not blame the harassed driver, trying to cope with the inrush, but we have inspectors who could exert themselves to see that the regulation is adhered to. Better, perhaps, to make it a “free-for-all” and remove the notices; they are just a farce.—Yours, etc., DISCIPLINE. May 5, 1961.
