Home Destroyed By Fire

Mr and Mrs D. W. Widdowson, whose home at 102 Mackworth street, Woolston, was destroyed by fire early last Tuesday morning have now found a place for themselves and their two children to live. Mrs Widdowson gave birth to a daughter nine days ago and was still in the mater-, nity hospital when the fire occurred. The family lost nearly all their possessions in the fire, the cause of which is still not known. Assistance in obtaining a State flat in Aranui has been given by the member of Parliament for Avon (Mr Mathison). Household linen and clothes for the baby have been given by the North Canterbury Centre of the Red Cross Society. Mr Widdowson expressed his thanks yesterdaj* to all those who had offered him assistance.
