R. CAMERON DIES
Trainer Of Tranquil Star (NX. Press Association) MELBOURNE, May 5. The well-known Australian jockey and trainer, Ronald Cameron, aged 71. who came originally from New Zealand, died et Lilydale, near Melbourne, yesterday. The best of all the good horses trained by Cameron was the great mare Tranquil Star, winner of a Caulfield Cup and £29,690 in stakes. Cameron, one of the greatest horsemen of his time, won the 1911 Melbourne Cup on The Parisian. A year before, his mount Trafalgar had gone down in the Melbourne Cup to Comedy King.
