Union’s Broadcasting Ban Withdrawn

IN Z Preus Association) WHANGAREI. May 5. Broadcasting of Whangarei Rugby matches would continue on Saturday, the Whangarei Rugby Subunion chairman (Mr N. F. Fraser) told last night’s meeting of the Northland Rugby Union management committee. Earlier this week the subunion decided that broadcasting should cease. A letter from the New Zealand Rugby Union read at last night’s meeting asked the Northland union to inform the Whangarei subunion that “our contract with the Broadcasting Service gives it . . . the right to broadcast any Rugby matches it wishes in New Zealand."
