Marshland WJWX—Mrs M. E. Orchard presided at the recent annual meeting of the "Marshland Women's Division of Federated Fanners, when the following officers were elected:—President, Mrs D. Boyd: vice-presi-dents, Mesdames L. Stead, C. Clark and E. Quaid; secretary, Mrs G. Hanright; treasurer, Mrs H. Dawber: committee. Mesdames J. Robertson Gratten. S. Lawson. S. Watson, and G. Watson; voting delegates. Mesdames D. Boyd. G. Hanright, and G. C. Clark; judges, Mesdames E. Treleaven and S. Wataon; competition steward, Mrs L. Stead. Canterbury Women’s Club. —A mannequin parade was held recently by the year circle of the Canterbury Women’s Club and other club members. Four models showed a collection of frocks, hats, suits, coats, and shoes. The parade was compered byMrs P. Johnston, add organised by the director of the year circle (Mrs E. V. Arthur), Background piano music was provided by Mrs H. Wilson. The president of the club (Mrs C. Shaw) thanked those taking part, and Mrs Arthur presented them with flowers. Prebbleton School P.T.A.— Officers elected at the recent annual meeting of the Prebbleton School Parent-teacher Association were:— President, Mrs O. Munro; vice-presi-dents, Mrs M. Webb, Mr G. Gainsford; secretary, Mrs R. Scofield; committee, Mesdames B. Dellaca, R. Grice. G, Walpole. The guest of honour at the meeting was Miss R. Hay, who has recently retired from teaching. Miss Hay showed slides of a recent tour of Australia. She was thanked by Mr Gainsford. Business And Professional Women’s Club.— Miss E McDavitt presided at a recent meeting of the Christchurch Business and Professional Women’s Club, when Mrs G. Guy gave a talk on her recent overseas tour. She accompanied her husband ■when he went to Hawaii for an educational seminar as a representative. The couple extended that visit to Hong Kong. Japan, the United States and Canada. She illustrated her talk with coloured slides. Mrs L. R. de Roo thanked the speaker. Cultural Society.— Dr. Vernon Griffiths gave a talk on necessary developments in New Zealand musneal culture at a meeting of the Christchurch Cultural Society on Saturday evening. 'items were given by the following: —Mrs Margaret Jenkinson (songs), accompanied bv Mrs W. E. Olds: Mr William Langford (pianoforte solos). Mr D. J. Hewitt presided and Mr P. A. Le Brun thanked the speaker and the artists. Presentation.—Miss J. H. Bradley, senior assistant mistress at the Lincoln High School and a member of the staff for 13 years, was presented with a set of silver spoons in appreciation of her work, at a meeting of the Parent-teacher Association. Miss Bradley has been appointed senior assistant mistress at the Aranui High School. She will begin work there at the beginning of next term.

WBF.F. President.—Mrs T M. Watson (Southland). Dominion president of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers, will address a special meeting of the Canterbury provincial executive of the division on Wednesday and preside at the-execu-tive's annual meeting. On Thursday she will visit Darfleld for a Malvern area group meeting of the division. where she will be the speaker.
