350 Refuse To Pay Increase “The Press” Special Service AUCKLAND, April 30. About 350 Aucklanders still have not paid the Increased television licence fee, though the Post Office has twice sent them warning notices. The annual fee was Increased from £4 to £6 10s on January 1, when the transmission hours increased beyond 16 a week. Some of those who paid the £4 licence fee before January 1 are refusing to pay an extra fee. Post Office spokesmen say they may be prosecuted if they persist in their refusal. About 5000 television licences had been issued in the gazetted area to the end of last week.
