Sir, —Articles expressing the views of various bodies or persons on town planning appear fairly regularly in our local papers. Plans are suggested for traffic routes, for zones for industry, for housing, for staying urban sprawl, for conserving space, for saving good farm land, for preserving the central commercial shop and office area and rendering it more attractive. This is discussed in “The Press” today by a visiting American geographer seeking to retain the amenities of appearance in aid of commerce. Is the main important intent of good town planning of the design and maintenance of a healthy, clean, and livable city suitable and; useful for its purpose of housing and supporting human beings congregating therein for their mutual gain and benefit lit right relation to the total life and economy of the land?— Yours, etc., HEALTH AND PROSPERITY.
