The final stage of the Commonwealth wool marketing season had opened on a very strong note, with many qualities of combing wool costing 4d to fid a lb (clean) more than before the Easter holiday, the International Wool Secretariat reported today. Wool prices generally were at the highest levels quoted since 1954. and on many crossbred wools it was necessary to go even further back to equal today’s prices.
