OTAKI TRAINER’S RECORD
155 Winners In Australia (N.Z. Press Association Copyright) . SYDNEY, May 2 The New Zealand trainer, A. D. Webster, of Otaki, scored his one hundred and fifty-fifth win in Australia yesterday when No Boots won the First Ashbury Stakes at Canterbury. Webster, who has made 31 trips to Australia, won his first race here 37 years ago with Fisher in the Prince of Wales Hurdles at Randwick. He retired from training about 14 years ago, but three years ago came out of retirement. On this trip he has brought only a small team—No Boots and two two-year-olds. No Boots won impressively at Hawkesbury before yesterday’s Canterbury win. Webster said he considered No Boots a useful norse, but added that he had not considered taking the horse to Brisbane for the winter carnival. Last year Webster won the rich Doomben Cup at Brisbane with Fair Chance.
