CANDIDATES AT BRISBANE
N.Z. Horses Ready To Leave
“The Press” Special Service AUCKLAND, May 1. Supreme Court, Fair Chance, Straight Lead and Baron Boissier have been booked to leave Auckland for Sydney on May 10 in the Monowai. They will travel oh to Brisbane, where they will be prepared for the big winter races at Doomben and Eagle Farm. Supreme Court will be accompanied by nis trainer, V. B. Johnson, who will prepare the ahorse for racing in Australia. The trainer of Baron Boissier, M. A. Bartz, will attend the horse on the trip, but on reaching Brisbane, Baron Boissier will join R. Roden’s stable.
The Doomben Cup and the Brisbane Cup will be Baron Boissier’s main assignments, and Supreme Court will be prepared for the Stradbroke Handicap and the Doomben Ten Thousand.
Straight Lead, which will be trained by I. J. Tucker, has the Brisbane Cup as his main goal. Tucker said today that he would very likely take four horses besides Straight Lead. One may be Starfire. The others he said would be maidens.
