Twenty-four New Zealand horses have been entered for the coming big Brisbane double—the Stradbroke Handicap and the Brisbane Cup. Fourteen horses have been nominated for the Stradbroke and 10 for the cup. The double last year was won by the New Zealand double, Knave and Redcraze. Knave is not in the sprint this year, but Redcraze has been entered for the cup, although he is not yet a certain starter. The New Zealand champion gelding Syntax, now trained in Melbourne, is to be set for the Stradbroke. New Zealand and New Zealandbred entries are:— STRADBROKE HANDICAP, of £10,000; seven furlongs (run June 15).—Kingship, Fair Chance, Kharass, Shahwan, Beaumine, Syntax. Supreme Court, Stariire, Yahabeebe, King’s Fair, Ma Reine, Gentle Lu, Snow Dust, Arganda, Royal Feast, Franlyle, Oh Parade, Slogan, McHarry, Luckydale. BRISBANE CUP, of £12,315; two miles (run June 17).—Baron Boissier, The Wash, Straight Lead, Emphatic, Llansifair, Bella Vista, Redcraze, St. Precious, Cambridge, Field Chief, Bois d’Amour, Golden Figure, Decisive, Maori Boy, Sombrero. MORETON HANDICAP, of £2500; one mile and three furlongs, (run June 22).—Fair Chance, Kharass, Shahwan, Baron Boissier, The Wash, Beaumine, Ray Ribbon, Straight Lead, Emphatic, Llanisfair, St. Precious, King’s Fair, Cambridge, Field Chief, Bois d’Amour, Gentle Lu, Golden Figure, Decisive, Maori Boy, Sombrero, McHarry, Slogan, Luckydale.
