KU KLUX KLAN IN BRITAIN

Call For Early Suppression

(Special Correspondent N.Z.P.A.) (Rec. 10 p.m.) LONDON, May 1. Two Labour M.P.’s, Messrs Maurice Orbach and Fenner Brockway, said they had evidence the Ku Klux Klan was organising branches in five British cities, according to the Associated Press.

They told reporters they intended demanding swift action by the British Government to stamp out the organisation before it got a foothold.

They said attempts to implant the anti-negro, anti-Jewish, and anti-Roman Catholic society in Britain apparently had been prompted by the big-scale recent immigration of negroes to Britain from Jamaica and Trinidad.

The Associated Press says a number of Britons have reported receiving Klan membership forms from a person identified as Horace Miller, of Waco, Texas, who is said to have agents operating in London. Liverpool, Birmingham, Southend-on-Sea and Fleetwood. Miller, in a letter sent with the membership form, says: “I want you to organise Aryan Knights of the Ku Klux Klan there. I am trying to make this white man’s order a world-wide front for us.” “Candidus,” the “Daily Sketch” columnist, had previously announced that he had received d membership form.
