Newsprint
Sir, —Much has been published on the cost of newsprint and the profits of the makers. This could easily be offset by the users putting down their own mill. The Boyer mill in Tasmania is owned solely by newspapers. Unfortunately this mill has to rely on imported chemical or soft wood pulp. I am sure we could offer British newspapers plenty of everything in the South Island to put down their own plant.— Yours, etc., E. E. C. HYDE. April 30, 1957.
