EARTHQUAKES IN MIDDLE EAST
(Rec. 11 p.m.) ATHENS, April 25. The minaret of a mosque collapsed during an earthquake in the old town of Rhodes, in the Dodecanese Islands, last night. Five houses also collapsed, and one person was injured. Panicstricken residents spent the night outdoors.
Two strong earthquake tremors have shaken Cairo in 12 hours, but no damage has been reported. Th? first shock last night lasted 30 seconds. An earth tremor which shook Cyprus early today was the second there in seven hours.
