MRS F. E. BURRELL HONOURED
Free Kindergarten Association
Mrs F. E. Burrell, president of the Christchurch Free Kindergarten Association, who will not seek re-election at the next annual meeting, was honoured by members of the association’s council at. its recent meeting.
Mrs Isabel Jones paid tribute to Mrs Burrell for her outstanding service and loyalty to the, kindergarten movement, and made her a presentation on behalf of members. Floral sprays were presented to Mrs Burrell and to retiring executive members, Mesdames L. W. McCaskill, P. J. Byrne, K. Samild, and G/ Ferris, and Miss E. L. Sapsford. It was reported that Dr. Josephine Palmer had given a course of lectures to senior students at the Christchurch Kindergarten Training College, and had agreed to give lectures to staff members in June.
Miss M. Dalton was appointed as director of the St. James’ Kindergarten, and Mesdames H. G. McCall and G. Riley were appointed associate members of the kindergarten.
