Officers elected at the first annual general meeting of the Burwood Plunket Mothers’ Club were:—president. Mrs N. L. Dale; vice-president, Mrs N. Harris; secretary-treasurer, Mrs S. Kennard; committee, Mesdames M. Parker, Vernal, Thomson, Lamberton, Gylston, Clifford, Cornelius, Dunn, and Kelemain. Mrs Jacobsen, of the Plunket Mothers’ Club Council, presided at the meeting.

The following officers were elected at the annual meeting of the Lower Riccarton Mothers’ Club: president, Mrs J. Harkness; vice-president, Mrs K. A. Morris; secretary, Mrs T. E. Roberts; treasurer, Mrs J. A. Townsend; committee, Mesdames T. W. Polson, N. Morris, D. Witte, N. Graham, A. Caldwell, R. T. Norton. W. H. Tanner, C. T. Fraser, Hill. How to grow pot plants and ferns successfully in the honie was described by Mr K. Marcussen, of the Department of Agriculture, at the April meeting of the Redcliffs-Sumner Garden Club. Mrs W. H. Bowen presided. Competition results were: dinner table arrangement, class A. MrS H. B. Carter 1, Mrs L. Hindle. 2, Mrs G. Eames and D. Blackwell (equal) 3; class B, Mrs E. Haste 1, Mrs E. Archbold 2, Mrs E. Ebert 3; apples. Miss S. Foster I, Mrs D. Nicol 2, Miss P. Hamilton 3; spray of fuchsia. Miss V. Simpson 1, Mrs E. Glen 2, Mrs J. Ballance 3.

Mrs F. Bishell presided at the annual meeting of the Hawarden sub-centre of the New Zealand Red Cross Society, and Mrs F. E. Burrell, a member of the North Canterbury centre, gave a talk on the society’s Hungarian'relief appeal and its Good Neighbour Service. The report showed a membership of 35, and gave a survey of the year’s activities. Donations were made as follows: quota to headquarters, £l5; building fund, £25; Hungarian relief fund, £5; Christmas parcels, £1 10s; street appeal, £B. The following officers were elected:— President, Mrs F. Bishell; vicepresidents, Mesdames H. Sidey and J. Earl; secretary, Mrs J. W. Sprosen; treasurer, Mrs A. Cowie; committee, Mesdames Welch, Baldwin, Fincham, Scott, White, Forrester, Westenra, Philpott, Duckmanton, Neeve, Campbell, and Wright. Mrs Harris presided at the annual meeting of the Belfast Plunket Mothers’ Club, when the following officers were elected:— President, Mrs Burgess; secretary, Mrs A. Mitchell; treasurer, Mrs R. Bell; committee, Mesdames T. Banks, I. Halligan, M. Wilson, L. Palmer, B. Rudkin, T. Morris, B. Black, J. Robinson, Teale, N. Maginness, and McQuillan.
