Qantas Planes In Service Again
(Rec. 11 p.m.) SYDNEY, April 22. A Qantas Constellation left Sydney airport today for London —the first aircraft of Qantas Empire Airways to leave on a normal scheduled flight since the end of the strike by pilots of the airline. The pilots agreed to return to work at midnight on Saturday. The Constellation carried 75 tourist class passengers—most of them travellers who had been held up by the nine-day strike. Demands for pay increases which led to the strike by the pilots will be investigated by the Commonwealth Conciliation Commissioner, Mr John Portus.
