Status Of Malacca Discussed (Rec. 1130 p.m.) MALACCA. April 22. Three thousand British subjects at a public meeting in Malacca decided last night to send a threeman mission to London to call on Mr Alan Lennox-Boyd. Secretary of State for the Colonies, asking him to clarify their status in this West Malayan port after Malaya gets her independence in August. Last December. 10,000 British subjects in Malacca sent ■ petition to Britain asking the Government to make a public statement on their new position. The public meeting, called by the Malayan Party, appointed Mr Tan Kee Gak, party chairman. Mr H. B. Ball, a lawyer, and Mr P. G. Mahindasa. a retired schoolteacher. to seek an Interview with Mr Lennox-Boyd.
