Mr Marshall Leaves Singapore Party

(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) SINGAPORE, April 17. The executive of the governing Singapore Labour front has accepted the resignation of Mr David Marshall, the former Chief Minister. A statement issued after a threehour executive meeting announced acceptance of the resignation and thanked Mr Marshall, who has been a backbencher in the party since resigning last year from the post of Chief Minister. Mr Marshall offered his resignation to withdraw from the party because he said he could not support the self-government agreement for Singapore signed in London recently.
