MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETING As a mark of respect to Mr R. Beattie, whose death occurred on Wednesday, the members of the Canterbury Cross-country management committee stood in silence at their meeting last evening. To make arrangements for the championships, at which 156 runners will compete. South Canterbury has appointed a comprehensive panel of sub-committees. The Canterbury senior, junior, and metropolitan colts’ championship will be held over a new course at Motukarara on Saturday, August 7. Entries will close on July 27, and no late entries will be accepted. Starting times for the races were fixed at: seniors and colts, 2 p.m.juniors, 3 p.m.
