MINOR FIRES
A small fire caused no damage at the property of Weeks, Ltd., printers, 221-231 Tuam street, yesterday. Four units from the Central Fire Station answered the call at 9.59 a.m. A fire caused slight damage to a wall and electrical fittings at the Linen Shop, 138 A Hereford street. The call, received at 1.48 p.m., was attended by four units from headquarters. At 4.53 p.m., units from headquarters and Sydenham answered a call to a chimney fire at a house at 17 Southey street, occupied by Mr M. E. Lambie. There was no damage.
Elderly Woman’s Death.—An elderly woman died suddenly at her home at 78 Durham street on Tuesday night. She was Mrs Ada Emily Turnbull, aged 85, a widow. An inquest for purpose of identification will be opened before the Coroner (Mr E. B. E, Taylor) today,
