M.C.C. TEAM TO TOUR N.Z.

CRICKET

TESTS AT DUNEDIN AND AUCKLAND

New Zealand will have a brief visit by an English cricket team next summer, the third since the war ended and W. R. Hammond took a team to Australia to resume cricket’s major test battle.

The two tests to be played are at Dunedin and Auckland, with provincial matches at Christchurch and Wellington. For the first time in tests matches in New Zealand, the games will be of five days. The itinerary for the tour, announced yesterday by the secretary of the New Zealand Cricket Council (Mr E. E. Luttrell) is:— March 5 to March 8, v. Canterbury, at Christchurch. March 11 to March 16, v. New Zealand, at Dunedin. March 19 to March 22, v. Wellington, at Wellington. March 25 to March 30, v. New Zealand, at Auckland.
