HUNGARIAN CLAIM
REQUEST TO FOREIGN MINISTERS
(Rec. 9.45 n.m.) BUDAPEST, June 27. The Hungarian Prime Minister (Mr Nagy), in a statement on his return from America, Britain, and France, said Hungary had formally asked the Foreign Ministers to reconsider the Hungarian claims to Translyvania, but he had not Yeceived a definite promise that they would reopen the matter. He considered that the Ministers would settle the question of freedom of rfavigation on the Danube. “The more ships on the Danube the better for Hungary.” he added. “The proposals for closer co-operation among-the Danube Valley States hevd Hungary’s full understanding, but they must be preceded by a politically -just peace.” Mr Nagy that steps already had been taken to transfer again to Hungary the Hungarian gold reserves at present" held by the American authorities. They would be used for stabilising the currency.
Royal Visit to Scotland.—The King and Queen and the Princesses set a precedent, when, after an all night journey, they arrived at Falkirk for a week’s visit to Scotland, as the Sovereigns normally go to Edinburgh first on such a visit. They were given a great welcome at Falkirk before beginning the 60 miles journey to Edinburgh. via Stirling, Grangemouth, and Linlithgo- \ —London, June 27.
