LONDON, June 27. The American West Coast champion, T. Brown, scored a surprise win over F. Segura (Ecuador) in the third round of the Wimbledon singles championship. Brown's text-book orthodoxy forced Sogura into many errors. Brown maintained a brilliant Sow of strokes throughout. The Australians, D. Palls and G. Brown, again had easy wins. The American. J. WAR STOCKS OF WOOL

(Rec. 12.30 a.m.) CANBERRA, June 28. A reserve price of 18.5 d a pound has been set for wool sold under the Empire scheme to dispose of war stocks The Minister of Commerce (Mr W J Scully) announced this in the House of Representatives. He said that a contributory price of .91d a pound to cover the industry's share of the administrative charges would be deducted from the price. Mr Seully added that the price less the contributory charge gave an average return of 1.79 d more than the average price over the whole clip payable by Britain under the war-time agreement with Australia.
