WOMEN’S SHOES
Sir,—A young girl of 16 years bought a pair of shoes at a local store, price 275, not more than a month ago. She wore them about three times and the sole fell right off one of them, only the toe plate holding it on. The other one looks to be going the same way. They were taken back to the shop and the girl was told they could do nothing about it except send it to a repair shop. I asked if they could not be replaced and was told no, as they would be a dead loss to the shop. Well, what are they to a young girl? Is there no redress for a young girl in that case. Could you advise me through your paper?—Yours, etc., THANKING YOU. June 27, 1946
