CANTERBURY ASSOCIATION The management committee of the Canterbury Hockey Association at its meeting last evening received from the Southland Hockey Association an Invitation for a colts’ team to visit Invercargill. It was decided to accept the invitation, and to ask that players be billeted if possible. It was decided to ask affiliated clubs to express an opinion as to the advisability of testing the rule eliminating the stopping of the ball with the hand' in the senior matches in July. Objections to postponing the senior grade fixtures on Saturday next, forwarded by the Sydenham and Technical clubs, were.; received, and no further action taken. The South Canterbury Hockey Association wrote suggesting a match either at Timaru or Christchurch this season, and it was decided to accept the suggestion and send a colts’ senior team to Timaru on July 27, if suitable. Use of Lancaster Park The emergency committee reported that it had met representatives of the Lancaster Park Board, and had inspected the west ground for the playing of the Otago v. Canterbury. shield match next Saturday. The members of the board had promised to prepare the ground, which should be in first-class order. The committee will inspect the ground on Friday, when a final decision will be made. Should the ground prove unsuitable, the game will be played at Hagley Park. The following team was subnUtted by the selector and approved:—goal, L. Jones; backs, E. Parrott and O. Whitford; halves, W. Morris. C. V. Walter, T. Eggleton; forwards, J. Grimley, E. Thomas, N.
