MAGISTRATE’S COURT At the Lyttelton Magistrate’s Court yesterday, before Mr Raymond Ferner, S.M., Martha A. Morrisey proceeded against D. Carey, a seaman, claiming possession of a dweling in Oxford street and arrears of rent. An order was made for possession and judgment was given for the amount of the arrears, £9.

Louisa Tomson, a dairy proprietor (Mr E. M. Hay) pleaded guilty to having sold milk below standard Mr A. W. Brown, who appeared for the Health Department, said that of two samples taken in one day, one sample was below standard. He accepted defendant’s explanation that the action was not wilful, but that the milk fell below standard inadvertently. Defendant was convicted and fined £2 and odrered to pay costs.
