ST. ALBANS SEAT
NATIONAL PARTY SELECTS MR J. T. WATTS Mr Jack T. Watts, who was elected at the last General Election to represent Riccarton -s member of Parliament, was last night selected as the National Party candidate for the new St. Albans electorate. The other nominees were Messrs A. N. Stone and C. D. W. L. Sheppard. BULLER SEAT MR P. E. M’DONALD SELECTED AS NATIONAL CANDIDATE Mr Philip Ernest McDonald, of Westport, was selected yesterday as the National Party’s candidate for the Buller electorate in the General Election. The selection was rhade in Motueka at a meeting attended by 105 delegates. Mr McDonald is a fisherman, operating a steam trawler at Westport. He is 38 years of age, and is a member of the Dominion executive of the National Party. NATIONAL CANDIDATE FOR NORTH SHORE (P.A.) AUCKLAND, June 24. When nominations for the National Party candidate for the North Shore electorate closed to-day the only name which had been received was that of Mr H. T. Morton, M.P. Mr Morton is the sitting member for Waitemata. which has disappeared as a result of the change in electoral boundaries. LABOUR CANDIDATE FOR WESTLAND From Our Own Reporter GREYMOUTH, June 24. The Westland Labour Representation Committee announces that the Hon. J. O’Brien has again been unanimously chosen by the affiliations and party branches as the Parliamentary candidate for Westland for the forthcoming elections, and his name has been forwarded to the head office of the Labour Party for endorsement.
