ST. JOHN AMBULANCE CORPS

ANNUAL CHURCH PARADE The annual .church parade of the Venerable Order of St. John was held at the Christchurch Cathedral yesterday morning. Thirty-three officers and 128 other ranks paraded, representing the ambulance, nursing, and cadet divisions. Lieutenant-Colonel P. H. Morey (Assistant-Commissioner in charge of the Canterbury and West Coast districts) was in command. The parade was led by the Crichton Cobbers’ Band. The salute was taken at the Captain Cook statue by Mr J. H. Rhodes (Knight of Grace of the Order of St. John), who is director of ambulance. The Primate of New Zealand, Archbishop West-Watson, dealt in his sermon with the history of the order, and made an appeal for more members.
