BODY OF BABY FOUND

WRAPPED IN TOWEL, NIGHTDRESS, AND PAPER (P.A.) TIMARU June 23. The body of a male child wrapped in a towel, a nightdress, and brown paper and tied with a string was found on the Waimataitai beach yesterday afternoon about 3.15 o’clock. At the inquest to-day, before the Coroner (Mr G. G. Chisholm), SeniorDetective E. M. Thomas said the body was that of a newly-born child of European parentage. A post-mortem was ordered, and the inquiry was adjourned sine die. The police are conducting inquiries.
