FREEDOM IN SPAIN
Sir, —G. F. Seward’s letter will raise a storm as usual. Let me tell him that the owner of the ‘‘Chicago Tribune” is no friend of democracy. While Franco is in Spain there can be no question of freedom. Why Mr Seward continually writes in favour of Franco, I don’t know, but I think it is his way of conducting subtle propaganda.—Yours, etc., June 21, 1946. [G. F. Seward may, if he wishes, briefly reply; otherwise, this correspondence is closed.—Ed., “The Press.”]
