WOMEN AND THE ELECTION

Sir,—l heartily appreciate Mr W. J. Sim’s solicitude for us over-burdened women in our having to carry “baskets and parcels on foot over long distances, and frequently up steps and steep hills.” I recollect before the Labour Government came into power we same over-burdened women did not have sufficient money to buy the goods to put in the baskets and parcels.— Yours, etc., LEST WE FORGET. June 21, 1946.
