LUNAR PHENOMENON

Sir.—-You publish a letter from Ashburton under the heading “Lunar Phenomenon.” We also saw the “clouding over” of the moon somewhere about 6.30 a.m. on June 15. It was gradual and seemed gradually to spread further over the face of the moon until there was practically no light coming from it. We could find no mention of an eclipse and were wondering just how it could be explained.—Yours, etc., WONDERING. Kaikoura, June 20, 1946. „ [There was an eclipse of the moon on June 15.—Ed., “The Press.”]
