J FORCE DRAFT

EARLY DEPARTURE NOT EXPECTED A visit to the J Force draft in training at Burnham was made yesterday by Major-General H. K. Kippenberger pefore leaving for Wellington to take up his position as editor of the official war history. Further leave for the J Force draft has been granted. The soldiers, who number between 800 and 900, will probably begin their week’s leave on June 27.

No official announcement has been made as to when the draft will leave New Zealand for Japan to reinforce the contingent which arrived at Kure six days ago. The expectation is that the draft will hot leave before the middle of July.
