RABBITS FOR BRITAIN
Sir, —Mr Renaud, in his letter in your issue of June 11, says he is not concerned whether there are enough rabbits in North Canterbury to warrant an export trade; but ne knows perfectly well that the quantity that this district could provide would materially help those in need. The people in the Mother Country have sacrificed all in the fight for liberty, so that we, too. may be free. What are we doing in return? Mr Renaud’s board, together with other rabbit boards, trusts, and catchment boards, is poisoning rabbits by thousands, thus depriving these brave people of good, wholesome food, which is vitally needed now. Then you turn on the radio and you hear a broadcast asking people to save food coupons for Britain. The whole thing is absurd.— Yours, etc., LEST WE FORGET. June 13, 1946.
