LAND SALES COURT
(P.A.) DUNEDIN, June 11. Appeals against four decisions of the Otago Land Sales Committee have been lodged during the year, but no information has been received when the tribunal set up under the Servicemen's Settlement and Land Sales Act to hear appeals, the Land Sales Court, will hold its next sitting In. Dunedin. A good deal of concern is being expressed in legal circles about th* position. The Land Sales Court last sat in December end was presided over by Mr Justice Finlay. Other members of the Court were Messrs W. E. Scott and W. Stewart. Because of other duties, Mr Justice Finlay is no longer available, and the latest information about the Court was that Mr Justice Ongley. of the Compensation Court, had presided at the sitting in Auckland about 4hree weeks ago. It is not known in Dunedin whether Mr Justice Ongley is to continue presiding over the Land Sales Court until Mr Justice Finlay or a new judge is available. It Is reported from the north that there are at least 100 appeals from committees’ decisions to be disposed of and these may take three months or more to hear.
